Study in Singapore

Asia's top-ranked education hub — NUS and NTU rank among the world's top 12 universities, with a 3–4 hour flight from India and one of the region's largest Indian communities.

Overview

Why Singapore?

Singapore is the most densely ranked academic destination on the planet — three universities in the global QS Top 12 within one small city-state. NUS (#8) and NTU (#12) draw employers from every industry and continent, and English is the medium of instruction everywhere, alongside a large, well-established Indian diaspora.

Costs are higher than most of Asia, but the return shows up in outcomes: strong graduate salaries, safe streets, and a genuine springboard into regional and global careers.

  • NUS ranked #8 and NTU #12 globally (QS 2026)
  • English-medium teaching throughout
  • Just 3–4 hours from major Indian cities
  • Large, established Indian community

Singapore FAQs

Is Singapore expensive compared to other Asian destinations?
Yes — it's one of the priciest study destinations in Asia, with total annual costs often SGD 30,000–60,000. The trade-off is globally ranked degrees and strong graduate outcomes that can justify the investment.
Is there a post-study work visa in Singapore?
Post-study work rights depend on where you studied. Graduates of private institutions get a 3-month post-study work pass, while graduates of NUS, NTU, SUTD and TUM Asia get a full year. After that, you'll need a job offer to move to an Employment Pass (min. SGD 6,000/month) or S Pass (min. SGD 3,600/month) to keep working there.
What is the MOE Tuition Grant?
A government subsidy that can cut public-university tuition by 40–60%, but it comes with a mandatory 3-year work bond in Singapore after graduation — worth considering carefully against your longer-term plans.
How much can I earn from part-time work?
Part-time work rights apply only to students at NUS, NTU, SUTD and TUM Asia, who can work up to 16 hours a week during term and full-time during official school holidays. Students at other private institutions are generally not permitted to work part-time.
